ILOCOS NORTE – A bridge in Pinili town had collapsed due to continuous rain spawned by tropical storm ‘Florita’ that has been wreaking havoc in northern Luzon.
The bridge that collapsed in Pinili around 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, was identified as the Bridge of Purok River Side of Brgy. Badio.
The province has been placed under signal number 2 as Florita intensified its movement toward a possible landfall in Cagayan or Isabela on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
At least 68 houses, including 59 in Brgy. Badio, six in Pagdilao, two in Barbar and one in Salanap, have been submerged under flood.
Two families of Purok River Side of Brgy. Bulbulala have been evacuated to the Barangay Hall.
Two animals -- a cow in Brgy. Pagdilao and a carabao in Brgy. Cabaruan -- have drowned.
A Landslide was also reported in Brgy. Liliputen, Purok Namnama, while a damaged spillway in Brgy. Buanga had also been reported.
Two puroks in Brgy. Capangdangan (Centro and Anaraar) were isolated due to overflowing water of their spillways, according to the latest report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
