P144M worth of shabu intercepted at NAIA, foreigner arrested


The Bureau of Customs seized more than P144 million worth of shabu from a 60-year old South African who allegedly tried to smuggle the illegal drugs into the country.

In a statement, the BOC Port of NAIA said the foreigner arrived on Aug. 19 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

BOC and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents intercepted the foreigner after receiving reports from foreign counterparts of the alleged illegal activities of the foreigner.

The suspect's items were inspected which resulted in the discovery of the illegal drugs.
