MB Daily News Update: Mayhem mars start of DSWD educational 'ayuda' distribution

At least 29 persons were hurt at a stampede in Zamboanga City, whiles scores of other supposed beneficiaries had to contend with confusion and long lines in other distribution sites of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) education assistance.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos has stepped in, and asked the DSWD to seek the help of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in distributing the educational “ayuda”.

Meanwhile, Marcos will be going on his first foreign trip as President in the first week of September with state visits to Indonesia and Singapore.

After seven rounds of rollbacks, there will be hefty price adjustments for diesel and kerosene, and a slight increase in the cost of gasoline on Tuesday.

The Department of Health (DOH) is struggling to boost the administration of booster shots, and reported that only seven percent of the 23-million target has been achieved so far. This, as it also noted an increase in Covid-19-related deaths – most of whom were unvaccinated.
