Crowds line up at DSWD Manila office for educational assistance


Students and parents lined up outside the office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Sampaloc, Manila, Saturday, August 20, as the agency started giving educational assistance.

According to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (DRMMO), there were individuals who fainted due to heat and hunger.

It assured that its team remains posted to provide immediate assistance for the people in the area should they need medical attention such as loss of consciousness or difficulty in breathing.

The educational aid was given to help indigent Filipino students for the upcoming resumption of face-to-face classes in public schools on Monday, Aug. 22.

Each student may receive P1,000 for those in elementary, P2,000 for those in high school, P3,000 for those in senior high school, and P4,000 for those in college or vocational school.
