PAGBILAO, Quezon – The body of a man believed to be a “salvage” or summary execution victim was discovered on Maharlika Highway here Saturday, Aug. 20, the third to be found in a week in this province.
Local police said that a concerned citizen discovered the body on a road shoulder in Sitio Sapinit, Barangay Silangang Malicboy at 7:40 a.m.
The victim was described as aged 40 to 50-years-old, wearing a gray T-shirt and black pants, and had tattoos in his right arm and chest.
He had a bullet wound in the head. No fired bullets or cartridge case were found in the area.
Police are gathering closed circuit television camera footages and conducting interviews to identify the victim.
Police Staff Sgt. Jeruel Siorez, officer-on-case, said the victim might have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area.
It was the third body found in the province in a week.
On Thursday, Aug. 18, the body of Eugene del Rosario, a former delivery rider abducted by armed men in Taal, Batangas, was found on Eco-Tourism Road in Barangay Bignay 2, Sariaya.
A man was reported missing in Bulacan and his body turned up in Barangay Lumingon, Tiaong.
The man was identified by his sister Melody Coralde as Melvin Bedania, 36. Her brother was a delivery rider, said Coralde.
Bedania was last seen alive in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan Sunday, Aug. 14.
