Alleged drug personality shot dead in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY - An alleged drug personality was gunned down by an unidentified man at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 here Saturday, Aug. 20.

Police identified the victim as Ericka Jane Castaneda, 27, of Barangay 2.

Police Lt. Jonito Pastrana, deputy commander of Police Station 2, said the victim and her companion were walking in the alley when she was shot by a lone perpetrator.

Pastrana said that five gunshots were heard in the area.

Pastrana said that according to a witness, a person had been looking for the victim in the past few days, asking for payment of some items.

Pastrana said they already have a person of interest who may be behind the incident and that they are looking into the incident as drug-related since the victim was allegedly using illegal drugs.

He also said that the victim’s live-in partner was jailed for a drug offense.
