The New Magsaysay Bridge along Bacolod South Road in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental was started in April 2021 and is now 86 percent complete, the DPWH reported.

The bridge project costs around P77 million and was implemented by DPWH Negros Occidental 2nd District Engineering Office, according to DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno.

He said the project is comprised of a parallel bridge with a pre-stressed concrete girder on a bored pile foundation.

Once finished, Bueno said that the new bridge will provide access to the southern half of Negros Occidental and increase road space, both of which would help draw more investors to the province. (Jun Marcos Tadios)
