No. 3 ranked bantam fighter calls out Loman

Third-ranked ONE bantamweight fighter Kwon Won Il has issued a challenge to Stephen Loman, calling out the Team Lakay stalwart for his next matchup.

Stephen Loman (ONE)

"Hey Stephen Loman, I’ll be ready to get in that Circle by November or December this year. Are you ready? I know you’ve been calling me out many times in different interviews and I more than welcome your challenge," said Kwon as cited by Team Lakay's official Facebook page.

Kwon even said he'll be giving Loman the chance to avenge fellow Team Lakay fighter Kevin Belingon, who absorbed a knockout loss to the South Korean last December 2021.

Despite the call out though, the 27-year-old Kwon said he has nothing but respect to the former BRAVE Combat Federation champion, calling Loman's fighting style as "boring."

"I make every fight the most exciting no matter what style is against me. Our fight is not only trending in the Philippines but in Korea also. I know you’re too scared to fight me in Korea so I can go to the Philippines if there’s an event there this year or we can even do it in Singapore," added the outspoken South Korean, who has 10 wins and four losses.

"Wherever ONE Championship wants me to be in, I’ll be there. Let’s go I’ll be waiting for you," added Kwon, who last saw action against Fabricio Andrade last June with a knockout loss.

Loman, the No. 4 ranked bantamweight fighter, for his part, is more than ready and raring to return to the Circle against anyone.

Loman has 15 wins and two losses, winning back-to-back in the Singapore-based promotion since his TKO debut win against Yusup Saadulaev in December 2021.

He followed it up with a unanimous decision win against Shoko Sato last March.
