Diego Castro on not yet meeting ‘balae’ Isko Moreno: 'Ayoko silang i-pressure'

Actor-turned-newscaster Diego Castro has yet to meet actor-politician Isko Moreno.

This was revealed by Diego himself in an interview with Ogie Diaz.

Note the two are now grandfathers after their children, Diego's Raffa and Isko's Joaquin Domagoso, - welcomed their first child.

On Ogie's vlog, he asked Diego: "Nag-usap na ba kayo ng balae mo?"

He answered: "Not yet."

"Siguro... kasi we were supposed to meet. Siguro long time ago, nag ka-campaign siya tas ako nasa news. So medyo yung schedule namin magkasalungat. Pero with Joaquin, lahat, siya nakakausap ko."

Ogie vocally reacted how "unusual" it is that they have yet to meet despite the election being over and done already.

Diego related that Isko went on a vacation after.

"Siguro sometime soon baka over lunch or something magkita-kita naman. We'll play it by ear," he said. "Because pag medyo settled na yung schedule namin, ako, bago lang ako sa work ko, so, medyo nagse-settle down na rin ako ngayon. Pag okay na lahat, then pwede ng mag meet."

But did he ever ask Joaquin why Isko is yet to communicate with them?

"Actually hindi. When we're all ready, I'm sure siguro mag-a-aabutan kami both at the same time. Ayoko silang i-pressure kasi ang importante yung family ng anak ko tsaka ni JD, masaya," Diego reiterated.

"Now, they're starting. Medyo, siyempre, may mga problems na kailangan ayusin. Mga bata pa sila. So ang importante nandun ako for them, nandun si Isko for them kahit hindi pa kami nagkikita, ganun na muna. Okay yun."

How about the wedding plans for their kids, who are both in their 20s?

Well, Diego related that Raffa and Joaquin did ask his opinion about the matter.

"Sabi ko kay JD: 'Just because you got my daughter pregnant, you're not force to get married. When you're ready. Kasi alam ko yan. Nangyari sa akin yan.' So I don't want them to commit the same mistake."

More than anything, Diego is happy of becoming a first-time lolo.

"Ay ang sarap pala. Specially nung una kong nahawakan si Scott, yung apo ko. Ang sarap pala, parang nararamdaman ko yung naramdaman nung parents ko na madami akong apong binigay sa kanila e. So full of joy. Hindi cliche, hindi showbiz. Talagang iba. Iba talaga," he said.

In terms of his reaction about finding out that his youngest daughter with former wife, actress Raven Villanueva, got pregnant out of wedlock, Diego shared: "Naalala ko yung mga joke niyo sa akin nung bata ako: 'Kapag ikaw kinarma sa pinaggagawa mo.' So natakot ako. Sabi ko naalala ko ung sinasabi niyo. E hindi, kinausap naman ako ni Joaquin kaagad. So nawala ang galit. And saya na lang lahat."

Recall that last month when Diego declared that he's a "proud lolo."

He was following in the footstep of Isko, who first opened up on being a grandfather.
