Food security, affordable energy, and housing were the key issues tackled by the Executive in the recent Cabinet meeting in Malacañang on August 18, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said.
In her press briefing on Thursday, Angeles said Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla led the Department of Energy's (DOE's) presentation on adequate, accessible, and affordable energy. This was the second time Lotilla discussed the matter in the Cabinet meeting.
The Covid-stricken Palace official added that another agenda in the Cabinet meeting was the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino program of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
Meanwhile, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., who heads the Department of Agriculture (DA), discussed the agency's initiatives on food security.
Aside from giving an overview of what transpired on Thursday morning, Angeles, who attended the meeting virtually due to her coronavirus diagnosis, did not provide specifics on what the Cabinet secretaries discussed.
"Hindi pa po kami nagri-release ng mga detalyeng ito, sapagkat kanina po ay pagkakataon para i-discuss iyong mga proposals na ito (We won't be releasing any details about these proposals yet because we had just discussions about them earlier today)," she said.
"May mga revisions at saka refinements pa po. So, iri-release namin iyong mga plano (There would still be revisions and refinements. We would share with you the plans) at the convenience of the departments involved," she added.
