Parañaque City’s “Bulungan sa Parañaque” or Fisherman’s Wharf was inaugurated on Tuesday, Aug. 16, as one of Metro Manila's major tourist attractions.
Mayor Eric Olivarez and 1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez led the inauguration of the three-story “Bulungan sa Parañaque” located in Barangay La Huerta.
Olivarez said the Parañaque River Promenade and City Park are added attractions to those who will be visiting the “Bulungan sa Parañaque” to enjoy eating and buying fresh seafood.
“This is a momentous occasion in the city of Parañaque because the opening of this new and environment-friendly infrastructure is the realization of every resident's dream to have a new tourist spot and a sustainable place that can also offer them livelihood,” Olivarez said.
The development of the City Park was started during the term of Rep. Olivarez when he was the city mayor.
Olivarez said a bridge connecting to Macapagal Boulevard was constructed to lessen the travel time to 5 minutes in going to the Entertainment City and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
He added that the opening of the new “Bulungan sa Parañaque” will generate more jobs for city residents, especially the city’s displaced fishermen.
