Delivery rider snatched in gasoline station in Batangas shot dead, body dumped in Quezon


SARIAYA, Quezon – A man abducted in a gasoline station in Taal, Batangas Wednesday, Aug. 17, was found dead on Eco-Tourism Road in Sitio Pontor, Barangay Bignay 2 here Thursday, Aug. 18.

Police identified the victim as Eugene del Rosario, 25, a native of Tondo, Manila and presently residing in Lemery, Batangas. Del Rosario was reportedly a delivery rider.

Police Lt. Col. William Angway, Sariaya police chief, said in a report that the victim sustained bullet wounds in the head and back.

His face was covered and hands behind his back when his body was found at 6 a.m. Packing tape was wrapped around his head.

Jane, the victim's wife, told police that her husband had just disembarked from a bus from Manila and was on his way home to Lemery when he was kidnapped at 8 p.m.

A closed circuit television camera footage from the gasoline station showed Del Rosario was abducted by unidentified armed men on board two vehicles. They sped towards the direction of Sta. Teresita, Batangas.

Angway said that the victim may have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area to mislead police.

Police are conducting in-depth investigation of the case.

Jane, in a Facebook post, condemned the murder of her husband. Netizens condoled with her and urged justice for the victim.
