Businessman nabbed for pointing gun on delivery boy in Pangasinan road rage


LABRADOR, Pangasinan – A 42-year-old businessman was arrested for pointing a gun on a delivery boy during a road rage incident in Barangay Poblacion here Wednesday night, Aug. 17.

A report from the office of Police Col. Richmond Tadina, Pangasinan police chief, identified the suspect as Brian Salvio of Barangay Inirangan, Bayambang, this province.

Investigation showed that the victim, Ralphie Barrios, 20, was driving a “garong” sidecar when the suspect who was driving a white Toyota Hi-Ace van overtook and encroached his lane.

Salvio told Barrios to stop and drew a short firearm. Suspect pointed the gun at the victim and uttered threatening words.

The suspect fled while the victim sought the assistance of local police.

Joint Labrador and Sual police personnel conducted dragnet operation and collared the suspect in Sitio Ballog, Barangay Sur, Sual, Pangasinan.

Confiscated from the suspect was a caliber Colt .45 pistol and two magazines loaded with 16 bullets.

Salvio failed to present pertinent documents for the firearm.

He was taken to the Sual Primary Care Infirmary Facility for medical examination and then to the Sual police for proper disposition.
