2 land brokers, 4 others engaged in pawning bogus property nabbed in Quezon


LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Police arrested six persons allegedly engaged in pawning fake properties in an entrapment operation here Wednesday, August 17.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Quezon identified the suspects as Jaylin Saliendra, 48; and Elizabeth Ludovice, 52, both land brokers; Geoff Menes Gagan, 40; Rowena Placing, 48; Hideliza Bruzola, 55, and Victoria Regalado, 54.

They were arrested by the CIDG-Quezon, with the 405th Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Lucena City police, around 2 p.m. in a restaurant here.

According to the police, the suspects pretended to be land brokers and property owners and enticed 30 individuals from this province and nearby areas to loan them money with their land titles as collateral.

Police said the suspects had earned millions of pesos from their scheme.

A CIDG operative posed as of one their victims who was offered two different properties as security for their P2-million loan.

The suspects were arrested after they were handed the money and the poseur-buyer received the falsified documents.

Seized from the suspects were transfer certificate of title, tax declaration of real property, assessment form and payment, boodle money, and a Toyota Wigo with license plates DAV-7669.

The suspects were brought to the CIDG-Quezon field office for custody and proper disposition.

A case for violation of Article 315 in relation to Article 172 of Revised Penal Code (estafa through falsification of public documents) will be filed against the suspects.
