Multicultural and multilingual K-pop girl group ILY:1 debuted last April with the single album “Love in Bloom.”

After nearly three months, they made their comeback on July 19 with the single “Que Sera Sera.”

ILY:1’s members are Hana, Nayu, Ara, Rona, Ririka and Elva.

Manila Bulletin had an interview with ILY:1 wherein members talked about their debut and latest single.

ILY:1 had a quick comeback with the release of “Que Sera Sera” and according to Ririka, they were thrilled.

“We were so thrilled that we could soon meet ONLY:1. Although we only had a short time to prepare, we’ll show everyone how much we’ve grown through our strong teamwork since our first album. So, please send lots of love for ‘Que Sera Sera’!” she said.

As for the meaning of the song, Hana explained, “‘Que Sera Sera’ is Spanish and means ‘What you wish for will come true.’ The phrase holds a positive message to not worry in advance about things that have not happened yet.”

Before debuting in ILY:1, Ririka, Ara, Hana and Rona joined the survival competition show “Girls Planet 999.” After their stint in the show, they debuted in ILY:1 last April.

Ara and Rona remembered the memorable moments of their debut.

“I remember crying at our debut showcase after seeing a fan holding up their phone with the phrase, ‘Thank you for debuting,’ on the phone screen,” said Ara.

Rona said, “When our fans chanted our fanchant for the first time for us... I was very touched, thinking, ‘Wow... We really have become celebrities now... I have fans who love me!’ I truly almost cried.”

Between their debut and the release of “Que Sera Sera,” Rona said they focused on their choreography.

“We practiced our group choreography a lot! We practiced a lot of the details and our facial expressions!” she said.

On the group’s strengths and unique qualities, Hana said, “I believe ILY:1’s strengths are our lovable and playful bright energy, the fact that we are a multicultural group, and that we are capable of various concepts and images.”

While they are from different nationalities, Hana said they were able to connect and forge chemistry.

“We naturally grew close to each other while living in the dorm together. It’s so much fun eating together and talking until late at night,” she said.

ILY:1 said they look forward to meeting fans overseas if the opportunity comes.

“During our promotion for “Love in Bloom,” we had an event for meeting our fans in Japan. We are hoping for opportunities to meet our ONLY:1 across the globe!” said Elva.

The members are counting on the support of the fans on their comeback.

“Hello~!! ILY:1 has recently made a comeback with ‘Que Sera Sera,’ a refreshing song that suits summer. We ask that you give lots of support and listen to the song a lot!!” said Rona.

Ara said, “We, ILY:1, are back with our second album, ;Que Sera Sera.’ It’s such a refreshing song that it will help you beat the summer heat.”

According to Hana,:” ONLY:1! Thank you for the warm support you always give us! I’ll work even harder to spread positive energy! I love you!”

“ONLY:1 in the Philippines! We, ILY:1, are back with our second album, ‘Que Sera Sera.’ We hope you listen to it a lot and enjoy it!” said Elva.
