BI nabs American wanted in the US for sex offenses vs minors

Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents have arrested an American fugitive wanted in his country for alleged sex offenses against minors.

BI OIC Commissioner Rogelio D. Gevero, Jr. said 35-year-old Tye Braxton Stiger was arrested by the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU) operatives along Diego Cera Avenue, Last Pinas City last Saturday.

The arrest followed after receiving information from US authorities about his alleged criminal offenses.

Records showed Stinger has an outstanding warrant of arrest issued by Hillsdale County, Michigan in July this year for 35 counts of child pornography-related charges.

He was said to have volunteered as a Sunday school teacher in church communities in the state of Michigan, where he was alleged to have preyed on minor victims in the course of six years.

He was charged with multiple counts of sexually abusive activity and possession of child sexually abusive materials.

Over a dozen videos of him placing hidden cameras at various locations to record children was said to have been seized by authorities.

“Arresting foreign criminals have always been a priority of our agency, and getting another predator off our streets means we are protecting our children from harm,” said Gevero.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has earlier instructed the BI to be vigilant against foreign pedophiles and ensure their immediate arrest and deportation.

Early this month, Remulla met with US authorities to discuss enhancing cooperation in combatting cybercrimes, which includes online sexual exploitation of women and children.
