Police seize 635 grams of shabu worth P4.3 M from high value suspect nabbed in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – A high-value drug pusher whose name has been in police watch list since last year yielded 635 grams of shabu worth P4,318,000 as police arrested him during a buy-bust in Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay Pahanocoy in this city on Sunday, August 14.

Police Maj. Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 8, identified the high value suspect as Ahzer Villarosa, 36, and resident of Barangay Pahanocoy.

Puerto said that Villarosa had a previous murder case but was probably dismissed as he was released from jail in 2019.

From that year, Villarosa reportedly started to engage in the illegal drug trade when he was able to establish link with Alex Soberano, a drug personality who was found buried under a tower in Barangay Vista Alegre last month, Puerto said.

Villarosa and Soberano met inside the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) here, before the latter was convicted for a drug offense at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, according to Puerto.

Puerto said that Villarosa was tasked to keep the illegal drugs when it arrived here from Soberano’s contacts.

Puerto said the illegal drugs were sealed in a Chinese tea bag packaging and were believed sourced out from Luzon.

He added that Villarosa repacks the items to be distributed to their clients here and in the southern part of Negros Occidental.

Meanwhile, Police Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, Bacolod City police director, believed that these illegal drugs could be part of the supply for MassKara Festival in October, considering that the demand for the illegal drugs increases when there’s a festivity like this due to the expected influx of people and visitors.

With this, Martir ordered station commanders to intensify their intelligence monitoring to prevent the entry of illegal drugs here.
