Marcos hails Davao City as 'shining beacon of progress' in Kadayawan Festival


President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. hailed Davao City as the country’s “shining beacon of progress” as he joined Davaoeños in celebrating the Kadayawan Festival.

In his message on Monday, Aug. 15, the President expressed admiration to the city for embodying solidarity and their contributions to nation-building.

"I could not help but admire the story that Davao City has written through the years, in which it has emerged as among the country's shining beacons of progress," Marcos said.

"It is with no doubt that Davaoeños have embodied solidarity and contributed wholeheartedly in weaving their own tale of nation-building to bring their beloved city to where it is today," he added.

The Chief Executive also enjoined the people of Davao to partake in the festival with gratitude and wished them success and prosperity towards achieving better tomorrow.

He also lauded the city's resiliency and solidarity in times of challenges and hardships.

"I am one with the Davaoeños this year as they commemorate this season's abundance and show the best of what their hometown has to offer, despite the hardships we have faced as a nation," Marcos said.
