Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez, 1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez, and Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano were among the guests of honor during the inaugural ceremony held at Club Unlimited near the expressway’s Moonwalk Access Road.

The 1.6-kilometer Cavitex-C5 Link Segment was started during Rep. Olivarez’s term as the city mayor extending the Cavitex expressway to improve traffic.

Olivarez said the completion of the project should provide more relief to motorists and commuters especially with the resumption of face-to-face classes in November.

“We are proud to have worked with the private sector and our partners in the national government, particularly the Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Works and Highways, to bring this project to fruition,” Olivarez said.

Travel time from Taguig City to Parañaque City and vice versa is expected to shorten. Vehicles coming from Parañaque City may enter the Cavitex C5 Link Flyover Extension in Merville in front of Shell C5 Southlink in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque.

The Cavitex C5 Link Flyover Extension opened to motorists at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14.

In July, a segment of the flyover extension connecting Merville Village to E. Rodriguez Avenue both in Parañaque City, was opened to motorists
