Motorcycle rider dies in QC road accident

A man died after the motorcycle he was riding figured in an accident along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City on Sunday morning, Aug. 14.

Cpl. Jesse Domigan of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Enforcement Unit (DTEU) Sector 5, investigator on case, said the victim, Mark Manlangit, 32, from Caloocan City, died after sustaining a head injury.

According to the police, the victim was traversing the northbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue on board his blue Suzuki motorcycle at around 6:10 a.m.

Manlangit lost control of his motorcycle and rammed the concrete gutter on the said thoroughfare, in front of the Commission on Audit (COA) building in Barangay Batasan Hills.

Domigan said the victim’s head hit the gutter and was declared dead on-the-spot.

He added that they already notified the victim’s family about the incident.

The incident is still under investigation.
