Lee Jung-jae’s film ‘Hunt’ reaches milestone with 1 million tickets sold in Korea


“Squid Game” star Lee Jung-jae’s directorial debut film “Hunt” achieved a milestone by selling one million tickets in South Korea.

“Hunt” is an espionage movie starring Lee Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung, Jeon Hye-jin, Heo Sung-tae and Go Yoon-jung.

According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), “Hunt” reached the one million-ticket mark on Aug. 13, or in four days after it was released on Aug. 10.

“Hunt” sold a total of 1,007,531 tickets as of Aug. 13 with a total gross of $7.91 million to date.

The film debuted at No. 1 on the Korean box office on Aug. 10 with 210,806 in total admissions and gross of $1.59 million for a revenue share of 46.54 percent for the day.

Since its release, “Hunt” has topped the daily box office in South Korea.

To celebrate the one million ticket sales mark, Lee Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung, Heo Sung-tae and Go Yoon-jung had a group photo that was released on Aug. 13.

Among the stars who graced the film’s red carpet event were BTS’ Jin, Lee Min-ho, Kim Soo-hyun, Lee Byung-hun and “Squid Game” cast.

“Hunt” was invited to the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
