MB Daily News Update: Palace clears Rodriguez in sugar importation mess
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez did not have a hand in the controversial resolution to order 300,000 metric tons of sugar, and disclosed that it was even he who alerted President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. about the irregular order.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture (DA) official who signed the resolution has already tendered his resignation, according to Angeles.
Motorists will get another form of reprieve from the rising costs of fuel with another round of slight decrease in the costs of diesel, gasoline, and kerosene expected next week.
Taal Volcano continues to be restive, with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reporting tremors in the area, as well as a 3,000-meter high plume emanating from its crater.
