The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is now discussing with Eastern European countries for possible destination of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
DMW Sec. Susan "Toots" Ople said aside from the countries considered traditional workplaces for OFWs, the DMW has been also finding wider options from different countries to generate more job for Filipino contract workers, among them are Croatia and Hungary.
Ople said she had already instructed DMW officials to create new guidelines to ease the processing of documentary requirements of OFWs, adding that they still need to improve their service to address the problem of migrant workers.
“Definitely, we need more bilateral labor agreement,” she said. (Jun Marcos Tadios)
