PH Army hiring 400 officers


The Philippine Army (PA) is encouraging the public to join the noble profession of arms as it announced that it will recruit at least 400 aspiring officers in various fields of specialization.

Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., Army commanding general, said the ongoing recruitment aims to continuously build up the PA officer corps “to advance the organization’s operational gains.”

“This is a great opportunity for our youth who dream of joining the noble profession of arms,” he said.

The Army Personnel Management Center (APMC) disclosed that aspirants who will hurdle the one-year Officer Candidate Course (OCC) will take on various field assignments based on their academic and professional backgrounds.

These specializations include infantry, intelligence, engineering, communication and information, logistics, finance, and human resource.

The OCC, or Integrated Basic Officer Leader Course, is a pre-entry training conducted to cadets and officer candidates to be commissioned into the regular force of the PA. It is consisted of three main programs namely the Basic Military Training, Officer Training, and Army Warfighting Functions Training with an average of 50 training weeks.

Brawner said that the Army will thoroughly select the “best and brightest” among applicants and they shall steer the organization in carrying out its duty of serving the Filipinos and securing the land.

Successful officer candidates shall receive a starting monthly pay of P45,556 while 2nd Lieutenants will receive P51,879.

They can also avail of various benefits including post-graduate studies here in the country and abroad for free, housing programs, and free health services for them and their family.
