Marcos doing 'very well, systematic' in first 100 days --- Angeles

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles rated President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s performance during his first 100 days in office, saying his style is "more systematic" compared to his predecessor, who was driven by passion.

Angeles said this after the 2022 PAHAYAG Second Quarter Survey of PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. showed that 68 percent of Filipinos expect Marcos to perform "well" or "very well" during his first 100 days as chief executive.

The said survey was conducted from June 16 to 22, 2022.

In a public briefing, Angeles said the President has been doing very well, and the people are just starting to see what kind of a leader Marcos is.

"I think even as we speak right now, the President does very well," she said in PTV's "Laging Handa" presser on Friday, August 12.

"Ang nakikita lang natin (What we're seeing) is that it took some time for people to realize yung style niya (his style), which is deliberative, science-based, and, you know, very professional," she added.

Angeles even compared Marcos' style to that of his predecessor, former president Rodrigo Duterte.

"We know that the previous administration was characterized by a lot of passion, but this President naman (on the other hand) is characterized by a more systematic and efficient response," she said.

"He also likes to deal with institutions para institutional ang ating mga responses (so our responses will be institutional). He likes things that are planned. Well-planned ang organization, well-planned ang mga activities," she added.

According to the Palace official, President Marcos collects each department's plans and assessments and gives them almost immediate feedback.

"He has been doing basically-- has been getting all of these plans, all of these assessments, and then moving forward. Mabilis naman siyang mag-respond (He responds quickly)," Angeles said.

"Once you have laid out your plans, he will give you his assessment of your own plans, tapos aandar na ang lahat (and then everything will move forward)," she added.

Angeles said that Marcos also "always keeps tabs on all of the Cabinet Secretaries" and is aware of all their activities, even pending the formal presentation of their own particular roadmaps.
