Raps filed vs doctor who allegedly molested a patient in Makati

A doctor at the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) has reportedly resigned after he was charged on Wednesday, Aug. 10, for allegedly molesting his patient in the guise of a medical procedure.

According to the 18-year-old patient, he was about to undergo an ultrasound procedure due to pain in his stomach last March 7.

The patient said the doctor led him to a far room located at the second floor of the hospital for his ultrasound procedure without even assisting him in carrying his IV drip or giving him a wheelchair.

Upon entering the room, the victim said that he was surprised when he found out that there was no hospital equipment inside for the procedure.

The suspect then allegedly started molesting the victim inside the room.

The next footage from the CCTV of the hospital showed the patient running out of the room and the doctor emerging behind him.

“Pinilit kong tumakbo sa third floor kahit masakit yung tiyan ko. Natutulog noon si lola tapos ginising ko siya sabi ko umalis na tayo dito (I forced myself to run to the third floor where my grandmother was sleeping despite the pain I was feeling in my stomach. I told her that we should already leave)," the victim said in an interview with GMA.

The victim went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to complain about the alleged harassment.

According to NBI-NCR Regional Director Jun Dongallo, the doctor may have thought that the victim would not feel or notice the harassment being done to him due to the anesthesia given to him. However, the victim still saw and felt the doctor molesting him.

The doctor is now facing charges of acts of lasciviousness.

Meanwhile, the victim said he would push for the cancellation of the doctor's medical license.

The NBI called upon those who may have been molested by the same doctor to come to their office and file additional charges against him.

OsMak has yet to release a statement regarding the incident. The suspect has reportedly resigned from the hospital.
