His love for streetdance inspired CJ Barinaga to pursue Performing Arts as a career path. (ikaw ang ipursue ko ngayon bro!)

“Gusto ko lang talaga ng performance in general. Nung high school ako, sumasayaw ako. Streetdance. Ganyan lang yung gusto ko perform-perform ako. Kaya nung magcollege ako sabi ko Theatre ang kukunin ko,” CJ shares. (magperform din ako sayo bro!)

CJ finished his AB Speech and Theatre course from Siliman University Dumaguete where he realized that anything about theater is his passion. (I’ll do anything for you, bro!)

“Naging active ako sa theatre sa Siliman. Mapa-behind the scene o sa entablado. After graduation, umuwi ako ng Manila. Nag MA ako sa UP, Theatre din.  Tapos natanggap ako sa  Dulaang UP." (tanggap ka ng puso ko. pakinggan mo pa!)

His active participation in countless stage plays opened doors for him to penetrate the entertainment industry. “May isang talent coordinator na nakakita sa'kin. Kinuha nya ako tapos pinasok n'ya ako sa mga commercial, music video, hanggang sa makapag TV and indie films na rin, nagsunod-sunod na. “ (sundan kita bro, san ka man naroroon!)

The 25-year-old actor has also appeared on several BL series online. (so sana man lang maging ka-BL kita!)

“Sa teatro kasi, pag kailangan sa eksena may mga intimacy workshops kami. Hubad hubad ganyan. Pero nung first time ko mag-BL. Medyo napaisip ako, kasi first time kong hahalik ng lalaki. Buti na lang, supportive yung mga kasama ko sa series. Kaya nagawa ko. I killed the scene! I believe!” CJ recalls. (pa-kiss nga bro!)

CJ is also trying his talent in directing. He just finished a family drama series titled "Troika" topbilled by Mel Martinez, and he is about to shoot a romantic comedy film featuring his fellow theater actor Jonathan Ivan Rivera. (idirect mo buhay ko bro!)

“Marami akong nagawang project with Direk Jay Altarejos. Sya yung naging mentor ko sa acting tapos later on sa directing. Kung paano yung proseso nya bilang direktor at writer," CJ says. (iprocess na natin yung sa atin bro!)

In his recent guesting on our online show, WTFu, he admitted that he gets attention from gays who flirt with him. “Di ko kasi nakikita sarili ko na magkaroon ng relationship with them. Pero siguro sa trans pwede. Marami akong na-mi-meet na trans. Passionate sila at nakakatuwa yung process nila. They’re cute!” (wait, time na ba parang magchange na ako ng image para sayo bro?!)
