Remembering music superstar Olivia Newton-John through her best works

The British-born Australian singer passed away at 73

In March 2012, Filipino fans gathered at the Big Dome in Quezon City to celebrate a night of music with the British-born Australian singer Olivia Newton-John. Sadly, that was the last chance Filipinos get to be with the music superstar as her unfortunate demise was announced through a post on her Instagram account by her husband John Easterling.

Olivia Newton-John

“Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time,” John posted. “Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer.”

‘Xanadu’

Olivia was able to work with Hollywood legend Gene Kelly in another movie musical, “Xanadu.” “Kelly's character owns and operates the '80s/'40s hybrid roller disco, Olivia Newton-John's character is the daughter of Zeus and a literal Greek muse,” said in a caption by Universal Pictures.

‘Physical’

In 1981, Olivia got a new anthem that led everyone to sing. “Physical,” which is part of her 11th studio album, marked a new era for the singer in terms of music and style. “
