CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Police operatives arrested a target drug pusher from whom 600 grams of shabu worth P4 million were found during a buy-bust operation in Masterson Avenue, Barangay Lumbia, this city on Thursday afternoon, August 4.
In a report from the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), the suspect was identified as Jonel Curay, 26, of Purok 6, Barangay 26, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, who was the target of the said operation.
The anti-illegal drug operation was headed by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Lumbia Police Station, led by Lumbia police chief Police Maj. Aldren Baculio.
During the operation, the poseur buyer positively bought from the suspect one sachet of shabu in exchange of P3,500 that served as the buy-bust money.
The police operatives have recovered a total of eight different sizes of transparent cellophanes with an estimated total weight of 600 grams of shabu and an estimated market value of P4,080,000.
The arrested suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Lumbia police station pending the filing of the case in violation of the Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
COCPO director Police Col. Aaron Mandia commended the Lumbia police for the said accomplishment.
