The Department of Health (DOH) said more than 364,000 booster doses of Covid-19 vaccines were already administered through the "PinasLakas" vaccination drive.

"A total of 364,784 booster doses were administered from July 26 to August 2 in line with the PinasLakas Campaign," the DOH said.

Also, there were 2,685 senior citizens who "were provided with full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for the same period," the DOH reported.

The PinasLakas campaign aims to provide booster shots to about 23 million Filipinos within the first 100 days of the Marcos administration.

In Metro Manila, a total 77,566 people were already given booster shots under this campaign, said DOH-National Capital Region Director Gloria Balboa.

Balboa said they have a target of providing 658,112 booster doses under the PinasLakas drive.

“Alam natin na medyo mababa pa ito. Pero pinapaigting po natin, that is why ito kami ngayon umiikot. Hopefully, kasi 100 days naman up to Oct. 8, maachieve natin iyan (We know that it's still quite low. But we are intensifying our efforts. Hopefully, since it's 100 days up to Oct. 8, we can achieve ),” said Balboa during the PinasLakas event in Quezon City on Thursday.

DOH Epidemiology Bureau Director Dr. Alethea De Guzman urged the public to complete their Covid-19 vaccination.

“Kaya natin ginagawa ang mga (This is why we do the) PinasLakas campaign—the way that we can be confident that we don't need to do lockdowns is really by pushing our coverages up. Na-achieve natin siya sa fully-vaccinated, panahon na po para i-achieve natin siya sa booster (We were able to achieve it for the fully-vaccinated, it's time for us to achieve our target for the booster),” she said.

“We really don't want to have these restrictions again, whether it's a granular lockdown or even that wide-scale lockdown,” she added.
