The Valenzuela City government on Monday, Aug.1, opened five new Covid-19 vaccination sites for residents of the city.
The new vaccination sites - Lawang Bato National Highschool, Sentro ng Sama-samang Serbisyo (3S) Center Malanday Covered Court, Malinta Elementary Highschool, Caruhatan West Elementary School, and Tañada Covered Court in Barangay Gen. T. De Leon - are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
According to the local government, all age groups (kids, teens, adults, and, senior citizens) can visit the Lawang Bato National High School and the 3S Center Malanday Covered Court to get vaccinated.
Kids with ages five to 11 years old can get their first and second doses at the Malinta Elementary School.
The vaccination team assigned in Caruhatan West Elementary School will administer initial and second doses, and additional/booster shots to teens, 12-17 years old.
Adults and senior citizens (18 years old and above), including frontline health workers and immunocompromised individuals, can also visit the Tañada Covered Court.
Those who want to get vaccinated should present their “ValTrace” quick response (QR) codes, a valid or government-issued identification card, “VCVax Passports” or vaccination cards for those who will get their second doses or booster shots, booster cards, persons with disability (PWD) and senior citizen IDs, and medical certificate for individuals who are immunocompromised or with comorbidities (if available).
A first come, first serve basis will be implemented in all of the inoculation sites, the local government said.
Meanwhile, the second Covid-19 booster vaccination for adults, ages 50 and above, and individuals with comorbidities (18 to 49 years old) also started in the city on Monday.
The vaccinations were held at the Tañada Covered Court, Lawang Bato National Highschool, and 3S Center Malanday Covered Court.
Qualified recipients of the second booster are those who got their first booster shots four months prior to their vaccination day.
Senior Citizens who will get their first and second booster shots will receive incentives from the local government like a P300 South Supermarket gift certificate for the first booster and P500 Mercury Drug gift certificate for the second booster.
Medical certificates are not required for individuals with comorbidities who will get their Covid-19 second booster shots (only for the immunocompromised), the local government said.
