House condoles with family of late FVR


The House of Representatives has adopted House Resolution (HR) 120, which expressed the lower chamber's condolences to the bereaved family of former President Fidel V. Ramos (FVR).

On Sunday, July 31, the 12th President of the Philippines Ramos passed away. The 94-year-old succumbed at the Makati Medical Center to complications wrought by Covid-19.

Speaker of the House Rep. Martin Romualdez, Majority Leader Rep. Mannix Dalipe, Minority Leader Rep. Marcelino Libanan, and Senior Deputy Majority Leader Rep. Sandro Marcos authored HR 120, which was presented for approval on the floor Monday, Aug. 1. It was promptly adopted after none of the members objected.

The resolution's official title is, “Resolution Expressing the Profound Condolences of the House of Representatives to the Family of the Honorable Fidel Valdez Ramos, Former President of the Republic of the Philippines, Founder and Chairperson Emeritus of Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas–CMD).”

Romualdez is the president of Lakas–CMD, the party Ramos founded 31 years ago in 1991.
