In her keynote message, Duterte recognized the efforts of the personnel of DepEd and other education stakeholders in making the launch of this year’s “Brigada Eskwela” a success.

The “Brigada Eskwela” which is also known as National Schools Maintenance Week is an annual activity led by DepEd to ensure that public schools are ready in time for the opening of classes for the incoming school year.

“Brigada Eskwela activities all over the country always highlight the communal efforts of all education stakeholders to prepare our school for our learners,” Duterte said.

“We would see parents who are excited, willing and happy to extend any help they could to ensure that our schools are ready to receive our learners from day one of the opening of classes and onwards to the school year,” she added.

Duterte stressed that the collaboration between the parents, the teachers, local governments, and the entire community through the activity “opens deeper and meaningful collaborations even until after the school year closes.”

Given this, she urged all education stakeholders across the country to participate in the activities related to “Brigada Eskwela.”

“Your presence is truly inspiring and I hope that the energy that you are showing today will create waves and waves of the same energy and we reach even the farthest public school in the Philippines,” she added.
