PH to host Garena Masters III playoffs, first offline CODM event in 2 years

After two years in an online setting, the Garena Masters will be played in an offline event for the first time with the playoffs of its third season set from Aug. 12 to 14 at the Newport World Hotel in Pasay City.

Call of Duty: Mobile announced the development through its Facebook page last Friday, July 29.

"GARENA MASTERS III WILL BE LANDING IN THE PHILIPPINES! been two long years since our last official offline tournament... BUT NOW WE'RE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!," CODM wrote in the announcement post.

The event will be free although fans who wish to see the action before their eyes will be asked to register through a link posted on the CODM’s announcement posts.

Filipino teams have been dominating the tournament so far with world champion Blacklist Ultimate and rival Omega Esports leading their respective groups.

Omega now has a perfect 4-0 standing in Group B while Blacklist Ultimate boasts a 2-0 slate in Group D.

Another Filipino squad in M420 Lowkings also took the lead in Group C with a similar 2-0 record while Singaporean powerhouse ALMGHTY sported a 3-0 record to sit atop the Group A leaderboard.

The group stage runs until Aug. 4 with the top two teams at the end advancing to the double-elimination playoffs.
