Drug war continues: 2 pushers nabbed, P8.5-M shabu seized in Cebu buy-bust

CEBU CITY – Police seized suspected shabu valued at P8.5 million from two suspected drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations in Metro Cebu Friday, July 30.

Police Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) chief, cited police units responsible for the two successful operations in Talisay City and Cebu City.

This proves that the drug war continues, he said.

"We will not rest on our laurels, the drug war continues. The public can expect that efforts to combat illegal drug activities in Central Visayas will continue,” said Vega.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in a buy-operation past 10 p.m. in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City.

Operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Talisay City Police Station seized packs of suspected shabu worth P1.5 million from Jedy Selitorio. Police said the illegal drugs seized from Selitorio weighed 230 grams.

In Cebu City, a 42-year-old man with P6.9-million worth of shabu was arrested, police said.

Police identified the suspect as Archie Diano Lanojan, 42, of Barangay Ermita here.

Police described Lanojan as a high-value target in the regional level in the drug watch list.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
