Brigada Eskwela is an annual activity of DepEd where teaching and non-teaching personnel "act as one" to assess the needs of institutions as well as prepare public schools for the scheduled reopening of classes.

This year’s kick off will be spearheaded by the Schools Division Office of Imus City at Imus Pilot Elementary School.

“Ang pagsasagawa ng Brigada Eskwela ay bilang paghahanda sa pagbubukas ng klase na nakatuon sa pagpapatibay ng partnerships sa pagitan ng DepEd at sa stakeholders nito upang kilalanin ang pangangailangan ng mga Pilipinong mag-aaral (The conduct of Brigada Eskwela is in preparation of the opening of classes which will be focused on strengthening partnerships between DepEd and its stakeholders to recognize the needs of Filipino students),” said DepEd on Saturday, July 30.

Under DepEd Memorandum No. 34, Brigada Eskwela will be held until Aug. 26, 2022 along with the Oplan Balik Eskwela, which will start on Aug. 15, 2022. Both of these initiatives, according to DepEd, should focus on information campaigns, preparations, and strengthening the department’s partnerships.

Meanwhile, the enrollment period for SY 2022-2023 will end on Aug. 22, 2022. Latest data from the department showed that in just four days, the number of enrollees for the upcoming academic year has already breached 9 million.

Classes for SY 2022-2023 will officially begin on Aug. 22, 2022.
