Cong Arjo, Maine's bf, becomes vice chairman in House

Neophyte solon Quezon City 1st district Rep. Arjo Atayde--the boyfriend of showbiz personality Maine Mendoza of Kalyeserye fame--has gained a vice chairmanship in the House of Representatives.

During the plenary session on Wednesday night, July 27, Atayde was elected as vice chairman of the Committee Creative Industry and Performing Arts, a relatively new panel in the House of Representatives.

The movie actor-actor-turned-solon's election was part of a rather lengthy omnibus motion made by majority leader and Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe to designate members of the chamber to their respective committees in the fledgling 19th Congress.

Listed as a special committee, the Committee Creative Industry and Performing Arts will once again be chaired by Pangasinan 4th district Rep. Christopher de Venecia.

Atayde, 31, was also made a member of several other House panels. These are the Committees on Appropriations, Games and Amusements, Natural Resources, and Youth and Sports Development.

The four House panels are listed as standing or regular committees.

Atayde and Mendoza are rumored to have been dating since late 2018.
