A year after its announcement, “Drag Race Philippines” finally Ru-vealed the Filipino drag artists competing for its first season.
A good mix of seasoned and new drag performers, the show’s cast come from different parts of the Philippines, presenting unique takes on the art of drag, all vying to win the show’s crown. In a video released by World of Wonder (WOW), fans get a first glimpse of the contestants as they kiki and share fun facts about their life in drag.
Aiming to show their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, meet the queens of the first season of “Drag Race Philippines”:
Brigiding
This 29-year-old Mandaluyong-based drag artist Brigiding is a total entertainer having performed in numerous parts of the world including Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, London, and the US—now, that’s a superstar.
‘You can and you will be the brightest if you just believe in yourself.’

Corazon
A true pageant queen from Bolinao, Pangasinan, Corazon has always envisioned herself joining “Drag Race.” But don’t be fooled by this 34-year-old queen’s comedic personality because she is a true fighter.
‘You may not like me or my personality, but I assure you, I will give you a good fight.’

Eva Le Queen
A well-known drag performer in Manila, Eva Le Queen has always been fascinated by villains and strong, dark female energy. Hence, her name being is a play on the term “evil queen.” So expect a drag that is regal, polished, and, of course, queenly and a little kooky.
‘The Philippines has the most talented, hardworking, passionate, and beautiful drag artists. It’s just so much fun that finally people are here to watch us.’

Gigi Era
A seasoned drag performer, 38-year-old Gigi Era is hailed from Davao but has been doing drag professionally in Melbourne for years.
‘What sets me apart from other queens is my story and how I actually build myself from the bottom and where I am now.’

Lady Morgana
Another queen from Davao, 30-year-old Lady Morgan describes herself as fierce, classy, and full of positive energy. She has been doing drag for 17 years, and it looks like she has mastered the art of the catchphrase with her “with feelings” saying.
‘I have a purpose to fulfill. I have the experience to share not only with Filipinos but also with the whole world. Being a drag queen is not easy, and it takes a lifetime to be the best that you can be.’

Marina Summers
Described as the tropical Filipina bombshell queen, 25-year-old Marina Summers is here to slay the game with her three-year drag experience, passion for pop divas, and looks and performances that will leave everyone gagging.
‘I’m very honored to be here, to represent the new breed of Filipino queens, to push boundaries, and uplift the local talent to the international stage.’

Minty Fresh
Best known for her “Break Free” performance, Minty Fresh is a fashion queen ready to serve hyper-feminine looks down the runway. This 31-year-old artist has been doing drag for 11 years and has worked with Nadine Lustre and modeled for the Philippine Fashion Week.
‘My drag represents beauty, confidence, and being ambitious.’

Precious Paula Nicole
Bet you heard this name before. Precious Paula Nicole from Bicol got her name from the show’s host Paolo Ballesteros. This queen is known for impersonating celebrities and for her big heart for the golden gays.
‘The biggest misconception about drag queens is that people think we are clowns. But I want them to know that we have feelings, we have a heart, and there are times that it’s a huge struggle in our lives to entertain people when we are facing our own personal problems.’

Bulacan-hailed Prince has been doing drag for three years This 25-year-old queen loves out-of-the-box drag, describing her craft as “never the usual.” So expect that she can do everything, from glam to camp.
‘I should be the first ‘Drag Race Philippines’ superstar because I have the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, and everything that it takes to be the next drag supreme.’

Turing
A proud plus-size drag artist, Turing believes that great drag comes in big sizes. Based in Cainta, Rizal, the 29-year-old has been doing drag for four years and aims to break boundaries through her appearance on the show.
‘We want to show Filipino talent to the world—that Filipinos are great.’

Viñas Deluxe
Judging by her introduction video alone, it looks like Viñas Deluxe is here to bring loads of funny moments in “Drag Race Philippines.” The 25-year-old performer has been doing drag for over seven years and has mastered the art of wigs.
‘I’m the complete package.’

Xilhouete
A drag mom, Xilhouete is a 34-year-old drag artist from Nueva Ecija, who is now based in Quezon City. Starting as a female impersonator, she broadened her creativity and even became a filmmaker.
‘This platform will give me that huge opportunity to share the stories of the people who came before me—the female impersonators of the early ‘60s. This is a huge opportunity to tell the stories that they passed on to me.’

Hosting the Filipino edition of the drag reality competition show is actor Paolo Ballesteros. He will be joined by comedian KaladKaren and “Drag Race” alum Jiggly Caliente as permanent judges of the season. “Drag Race Philippines” is set to premiere on Aug. 17 on WOW Presents Plus and HBO GO.
