Manila conducts damage assessment after strong quake


The city government of Manila has started to assess the damages to structures following the 7.3 magnitude quake that hit different parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila on Wednesday morning, July 27.

Employees and personnel at the Manila City Hall were seen evacuating after the strong quake was felt.

According to Department of Engineering and Public Works, no visible cracks were seen due to the earthquake at the Manila City Hall building as of this writing.

Meanwhile, patients and health workers in the six district hospitals in the City of Manila, including the Manila Covid-19 Field Hospital, also evacuate their respective buildings.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake was recorded two kilometers north of Lagangilang, Abra at 8:43 a.m. It was 25 kilometers deep.
