“We will endure.”
With those words, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ended his one-hour, 20-minute State of the Nation Address (SONA) in which he detailed the economic outlook for the country, and outlined the programs he has initiated and would want to implement for the next six years of his administration.
Marcos also enumerated the 19 pieces of legislation that his administration will be pushing for passage in the 19th Congress, mainly economic and social measures that will address the needs of the country. Among these are the measures on the national rightsizing program, the creation of the National Disease Management Authority and the Philippine Virology Institute; as well as the return of the reserved officers training course (ROTC).
Meanwhile, the alleged assailant in the fatal shooting of the ex-mayor of Lamitan, Basilan, and two others had a long-standing feud with the family of his principal victim Rosita Furigay. Chao-Tao Yumul reportedly had more than 70 cases of cyber libel filed against him by the Furigays.
The price per liter of diesel is expected to go down by as much as P1.85, and of gasoline by P.40 in the latest round of fuel price adjustments.
