First Lady Liza Marcos chooses traditional terno for SONA

First Lady Louise "Liza" Araneta-Marcos will wear a traditional terno during the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. today, July 25.

Hours before the SONA, the President posted on his Facebook page the design of the dress his wife will be wearing for the event.

The First Lady's attire was designed by Lesly Mobo. It is made of heavy stretch georgette and designed with piña calado, victorian lace, and gold.

Her shoes, meanwhile, was made by Lila Almario.

In his post, Marcos paid tribute to local artists and their crafts saying, "Tunay na maipagmamalaki ang obrang Pinoy sa anumang larangan (The works of Filipinos in any field are truly our pride)!"

Marcos is set to deliver his maiden SONA at 4 p.m. Monday at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.

He is expected to talk about his administration's economic plans, the resumption of face-to-face classes, Covid-19 response, and the digitization of government processes.
