CJ Gesmundo 'safe' -- SC

Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo was to be the guest speaker during the scheduled graduation ceremony at the Ateneo de Manila School of Law of the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) in Quezon City on Sunday afternoon, July 24.

But Gesmundo, who at the time of the shooting incident at about 2:55 p.m., was still on his way to AdMU, “was advised to turn back,” Supreme Court (SC) Spokesperson Brian Keith F. Hosaka said.

“The Chief Justice is safe,” Hosaka told journalists covering the SC.

The shooting incident was posted on Twitter b’y the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Chief Justice Gesmundo obtained his law degree from AdMU in 1984 and passed the Bar in April 1985.
