The Zamboanga Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), through the Procurement Acquisition and Awards Division (CMO-PAAD), streamed the opening and evaluation of bids submitted by participating suppliers live via the Zamboanga City Government Facebook page.

Budget for the procurement of supplies amounted to P1,092,518.

Last July 15, the local government also broadcast the opening and evaluation of bids for the purchase of watercraft, motor vehicles, spare parts, computer units, and welfare goods.

The broadcast of the bidding process was ordered by Mayor John Dalipe based on his campaign promise to promote transparency in government processes.

Dalipe issued his first executive order mandating the implementation of the Freedom of Information and the adoption of the open governance policies.

In a statement from City Hall, it said the live broadcast would allow interested Zamboangueño residents to monitor and observe the entire bidding process.

During his previous tenure as councilor, Dalipe probed questionable purchases by the former administration particularly relief supplies and medical equipment purchased during the pandemic.
