Whirlwind hits Pangasinan town, strikes down power lines

PANGASINAN – A whirlwind struck Binmaley town in this province, knocking down electrical posts that resulted in power interruption in several barangays on Friday evening, July 22.

As of this writing, some areas are still without power, according to the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO).

According to the reports, the whirlwind also brought rainfall and thunderstorms not just in Binmaley but also in nearby towns.

Affected barangays in Binmaley were Nagpalangan, Dulag, Amancoro, Basing, Balogo and other neighboring areas.

CENPELCO Technical Team is tracing other areas with power line damage brought about by the natural disaster.

Repair and replacement of damaged power lines and facilities are now ongoing to restore power at the earliest possible time in the affected areas.
