3-vehicle mishap as PUJ hits steel barriers in Mandaluyong

A public utility jeepney (PUJ) and two other vehicles were involved in a road accident after the PUJ hit a steel barrier on Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday night, July 20.

In a report from ABS-CBN, Police M/Sgt. Bernardo Oriol of the traffic division of Mandaluyong City Police said that the PUJ with plate number TVZ 591 was traveling along Shaw Blvd. in Barangay Highway Hills when it suddenly lost control and hit a vehicle.

The jeepney then crashed into the steel barrier where the debris hit another vehicle traveling along the area.

No one was gravely injured in the mishap which included the eight passengers of the jeepney and occupants of the two vehicles.

The jeepney driver immediately fled the scene after the incident.

Oriol added that the police conducted an operation to apprehend the jeepney driver but failed in catching the suspect.

He said that the jeepney driver may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple damage to properties.

The police said that they have already spoken with the jeepney operator who agreed to coordinate with them in the investigation.
