An upland community in Baras, Rizal is now being discovered as a place to unwind and relax from the hassles of city life thanks to the vlogs or video blogs of netizens who were the first ones to discover the beauty of the places that they are documenting on videos.
A place in Barangay Pinugay located in the upland portion of Baras, Rizal only has a few resorts but these offer a relaxing mountain feel with the sound of the water flowing from the stream, birds and insects chirping, and the free flowing fresh and cold water that fills the man-made pools that are found inside the resorts.
A group of four motor bikers from Caloocan City told Manila Bulletin that they discovered a place called Danumbaker Resort located in the secluded Sitio San Roque in Barangay Pinugay, an upland village in Baras, from the video blogs of netizens on YouTube.
Maricon, caretaker of the hidden resort said several video bloggers have been helping in promoting the secluded community that is surrounded by tall trees of different species in Barangay Pinugay.
Other resorts in the same village that offer amenities like swimming pools with fresh water coming from the spring and cottages and nipa hut accommodations remain closed upon the order of the municipal government.
The upland portion of Baras, Rizal is included in the areas declared by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as protected.
Sitio San Roque can be reached by commuters by tricycle from Paenaan in Antipolo City which can be accessed by riding a jeepney or a modern e-bus at Cogeo Market in Antipolo City.
