The #MarcosCabinet: Marcos picks ex-Labor official as new TESDA chief


President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has named former Labor official Danilo Cruz as the new director-general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Malacañang announced the designation of Cruz on Wednesday, July 20.

"The Office of the Executive Secretary through Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles confirms the appointment of Danilo Cruz as TESDA Director-General," the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS)said.

Cruz was a former undersecretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during the term of former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Meanwhile, OPS also confirmed that Olivia Garcia "Bong" Coo has also been designated as one of the new commissioners of the Philippine Sports Commission.

Coo is a four-time world champion Filipino bowler and a World Bowling Hall of Famer.

She is also the president of the Philippine Bowling Federation.
