The Las Piñas City government started conducting vaccinations of its pediatric population on Friday, July 15, to prepare public school students for face-to-face (F2F) classes this coming school year.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said a team from the City Health Office (CHO), in coordination with the School Division Office, conducted the vaccination at Moonwalk Elementary School.
Aguilar said that aside from the students, teachers, school personnel, and parents were also given vaccination against Covid-19.
She added that the vaccination of school children is a move of the city government to prevent the spread of the disease in the city.
The mayor told all public schools to coordinate with the CHO to schedule their students for vaccination against Covid-19.
Aguilar said the city government also wants to prepare all the students for the school opening on August 22 as announced by the Department of Education (DedEd).
She said the DepEd also ordered the transition to five-days of face-to-face classes in all public and private schools starting November.
