Chinese Consul General visits Zamboanga, renews ties with local officials


ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Consul General Li Lin of the People’s Republic of China Consul has vowed to work hard to push bilateral relationships with the country in general and Zamboanga City in particular.

The Davao City-based Chinese Consul General made the pronouncement on Monday, July 18, during his courtesy visit in Zamboanga City.

The consul general was accompanied by Consul Chao Jian Wei and Davao and Zamboanga-based Chinese businessmen during his visit wherein he renewed ties with the local officials of the city led by Mayor John Dalipe.

In his message, Zamboanga mayor Dalipe said he is ‘looking forward to enhancing friendship and cooperation as well as the promotion of people to people and cultural exchanges including trade and investment especially in infrastructure and agriculture modernization.’

Dalipe added that Zamboanga City is ready to work hand in hand with our business community to generate more tangible benefits to Zamboangueños and the Chinese people.

Consul Lin is the first diplomat to visit Zamboanga mayor Dalipe during the young local chief executive’s first 18 days in office.

Dalipe was with City Administrator P/Gen. Mario Yanga, City Legal Officer Atty. Haydee Panganiban and Executive Assistant Atty. Rochelle Magnolia Tamin.
