Police Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis was designated Monday, July 18, as the new director of the Eastern Police District (EPD).
Bearis vowed to continue the district police force’s honest and commendable public service to the community.
According to the EPD, Bearis is going to lead the 2,600 personnel of the police district in ensuring the security and safety of the citizens of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan, which comprise the eastern portion of Metro Manila.
Bearis is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) and a member of "Tagapaglunsad" class of 1993.
Before his designation as the new EPD director, Bearis served as chief regional staff of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) wherein he earned his rank of Police Brigadier General.
He also became EPD deputy district director administration, PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) deputy director for administration, and Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) deputy director.
Police Maj. Gen Felipe Natividad, NCRPO director, also expressed his confidence in the capabilities of Bearis to lead the EPD.
